We are still up and running with the steam-punk lockets, but I've also just added a couple of vintage pieces to my collection. My parents collected vintage jewelry, so I grew up scouring the display shelves of non air-conditioned antique shops. Those were the days before ebay.
I'm particularly drawn to art deco style (though the brooch pictured is Bohemian). I think I like it for the same reason I like steampunk: the juxtaposition of geometric form and nature. I love the idea of machine and how our society both hates it and reveres it. Mostly though, I think I really like old stuff.
